Distribution Sales Engineer – Dearborn, MI


  • Builds a sales pipeline for Rhombus Energy Solutions products and services through (partner) distributor and value added reseller (VARs) network. Train partners and their customers on Rhombus EV products and services.
  • Serves partners and customers with EV Charging, high power inverter and infrastructure expertise. Host sales calls with electrical distributors. Create growth sales plans for new and existing distributors. Recruit, onboard and direct electrical distributors across North America.
  • Call on electrical contractors with/without distribution partners to position Rhombus as an EV and energy storage solutions provider
  • Thorough knowledge of the market including the competitive landscape, articulates our key value propositions and differentiators to customers and influencers.
  • Engages frequently with partners, end users, electrical contractors, consulting engineers, OEMs and other parties to influence technical specifications toward Rhombus value proposition.
  • Manage partner pipeline and support sell through of Rhombus products and services. Report pipeline and revenue on weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • As a sales position, there is considerable upside for the right candidate who can negotiate contracts, maintain deal momentum, and close deals. Successful candidate will have sales responsibilities and be measured on managing business objectives and meeting or exceeding sales goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years selling experience (partner development and channel management experience preferred) within electric vehicle charging, electrical construction and / or renewable markets.
  • Proven performance driving revenue growth
  • Strong technical competencies and aptitude
  • Self-starter and “can do” mentality to own and operate vertical.
  • S. required, science or engineering preferred

First 30 days:

  • Work closely with the Rhombus Global VP and Rhombus leadership to get up to speed on Rhombus products and services and roadmap.
  • Become knowledgeable on current Rhombus reseller agreements, terms and conditions.
  • Engage current partners and document pipeline.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy for North American VARs and distributors. Identify growth opportunities and business plan. Craft VAR training module.

By 90 days:

  • Be our go-to expert for all Rhombus Energy Solutions North American partner programs. Support partner RFQs and direct sales development into key markets and verticals. Drive opportunities toward Rhombus technical specifications and value proposition. Train VARs on Rhombus products and services.
  • Provide the organization with ongoing, in-depth analysis of partner scorecard and recommendations to accelerate or improve them.
  • Forecast and quantify our gaps, risks, and opportunities to drive our overall Rhombus participation in partner programs.
  • Identify top markets where distribution partners can have the maximum influence in returning greatest revenue and developing strategy on how to penetrate


This position requires 25% travel

Location of position could be Dearborn, Michigan, San Diego, California or for well qualified candidates remote location in key zero emission vehicle markets.
